Janet Wagner Named CEO of Community Health Center

Akron, Ohio – February 22, 2018

Community Health Center (CHC) is proud to announce that Janet Wagner has been named Chief Executive Officer. Wagner has served as the interim CEO since November 2017. On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the CHC Board of Directors voted unanimously to bring permanence to that role.

Wagner has spent more than 30 years with Community Health Center, including the role of Chief Operating Officer from 1990 to her acceptance of the Interim CEO role in late 2017.

“We save lives, and I’m proud of that mission. I love the staff and patients, and I look forward to moving the agency forward,” said Wagner, when asked about her appointment. Wagner is currently a board member at the Summit County Community Partnership and is president of the Summit Terrace Development Corporation Board of Directors and several other housing programs of the Community Health Center and Ohio Multi-County Development Corporation.

A 19-year crack cocaine addict with 83 arrests and 66 convictions, Ms. Cain sought help in 2005 and has defied the odds.
